The model of growing cucumbers for export has been assigned by the People's Committee of Lac Thuy district, which is assigned by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with the Agriculture and Forestry Extension Station, Plantation and Plant Protection Station and Hagimex JSC organized in winter crop 2019.
According to this year's winter crop plan, Lac Thuy district planted 722 hectares of vegetables, including 190 hectares of corns, 200 hectares of sweet potatoes, 16 hectares of peanuts, 24 hectares of soybeans, and 291.9 hectares of vegetables. By October 15, 2019, the whole district has grown over 81 hectares of corns, 41 hectares of sweet potatoes, nearly 120 hectares of vegetables and beans.
The goal is to increase the value of winter crop production based on the development of the link between production and consumption products, creating concentrated on production areas to supply raw materials for exporting; models of planting cucumber with 2 types, namely SuryaRZ F1 (Netherlands) and PYG1 F1 (Japan), were implemented in Lien Hoa, Thanh Nong and Khoan Du commune with a total area of nearly 2.0 ha. Farmers participating in the model were supported with seeds and fertilizers . Hagimex provides plant protection products and foliar fertilizers in the form of postpaid; at the same time, sign contract to buy all products for exporting.
According to initial evaluation, Surya RZ F1 of the Netherlands and Japanese PYG1 F1 are suitable for local soil; If properly cared for, effectively prevented pests and diseases, the farmer can crop 500-700 kg ghenkins. In fact, linking production and product consumption between processing enterprises and people helps maintain and promote sustainable development of production. On the other side, when they have a stable contract, farmers assured production, not worry about the "crop devaluation". Signing production and consumption contracts with people ensures the source of raw materials for processing.
Looking at the growing green cucumber fields, we were happy, because we not only promised a bumper crop, but also opened a new direction for winter crops.
