Desiccated coconut

The coconut is the most familiar palm of the tropics, mainly cultivated in Southeast Asia. Vietnam is one of the Asian countries which has a large area of coconut trees. Coconut groves in Vietnam are cultivated by households. From freshly selected matured coconuts, desiccated coconut is the dehydrated form of white coconut meat cut into the various desired sizes. It is available in granules, flakes, shreds or chips and in two variations: high-fat (minimum 60% fat) and low-fat (maximum 50% fat). Our products are unsweetened and do not contain any preservatives or additives. Harvest season:
 
Coconuts can be harvested all year round, but the quantity is lower in March and October.
 
Output per year: 1000 tons.
 
 
Specifications:

- Oil content: 63% min.
- Moisture: 3% max.
- FFA (free fatty acid as caloric): 0.3% max.
- Colour: natural white.
- Not sour.
- Salmonella and E.coli: none. 
- Free from foreign matters.
- Free from stranger specks
- Flavour: sweet, mild and no off-flavour.
- Particles size:
Fine grade: 2-3 mm.
Medium grade: 3-5 mm.
- Packaging: 10 kg, 25 kg or 50 kg/PE/Kraft/PP; 11.5 MT/20' container DC; 23 MT/40' container DC or as requested.

- Payment: by irrevocable L/C at sight or T/T in advance
- Shipment: within 20 days after receipt of L/C or advance payment.

Process of manufacture of desiccated coconut (step by step):
 
1- Whole coconut.
2- Shelling and removing coconut water.
3- First sterilization with water and the amount of chlorine allowed.
4- Cleaning.
5- Shredding into the required size (fine or medium).
6- Second sterilization using water-steam at a temperature of 100C.
7- Drying (moisture: 3% max) and cooling.
8- Packing in PE/Kraft/PP bags 
or as requested for storage.
